Best Cupcakes EVER!

I’ve found the best cupcakes ever and can now die happily. I found out about Sprinkles about a year ago when I saw them being featured on a food show. I’m not sure which show it was, but they mentioned they make cupcakes from scratch throughout the day with the finest ingredients in the world. They have several locations, but I remember them saying on was in Beverly Hills. I made a promise to myself that when I moved back to CA I would go there for sure and that’s sure enough what I did.

Luckily Sprinkles is two hours away, otherwise I’d probably gain about 200 pounds and be there everyday. My all time favorite is peanut butter chip which is to DIE for. What could be better than chocolate and peanut butter?! Nothing in my book. If you ever get the chance to visit a Sprinkles bakery you must do so, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

New Personal Record!

Yay for me! I just got back from finishing my longest distance and timed run EVER! This is the loop I ran this morning in 1 hr & 4 minutes for a distance of 5.9 (practically 6, right?!) miles! Woo hoo! I’ve never ran that long or far in my life and it was actually surprisingly easy. I remember struggling and hating running one mile in high school, so to me, this is amazing. I didn’t even feel like I was going to pass out and die!

Anyways, I know I’m a really bad blogger and I think I’ve accepted I’ll never be a full-time food blogger. It takes way to much time and effort & my food is way too boring. But in the past few days I have tried 2 new foods that I like: Pom seeds & Almond milk.

Also, I got a DSCN0038very awesome new toy that I’m super excited about: a Kitchen-Aid electric mixer!! My parents bought it on a whim and I was soo excited. It has a dough hook which I’ve been dreaming about to make breads with! I can’t wait to start baking more now. The other night I made some double chocolate-chip cookies for Chris with it.

Life is great right now- I think I have everything I could possibly want/need and I am loving being in California and happy to have my parents here finally. The other night we went to the beach at sunset– how beautiful is that?! I’m so lucky to be in such a beautiful, warm place, especially in January. Happy Wednesday!

All in all, I would say it was a great year! This year is looking just as great so far! Some things I’m looking forward to this year are my parents being back in CA (they moved back a few days ago!), starting my nutrition program, and continuing my healthy lifestyle that I have grown to love.

My goals for this year are to walk more places that are close versus driving, do more yoga (I forget how much I like it), and try to be more organized/clean. The last one is a killer because when things get busy or hectic, I tend to throw my stuff everywhere and say I’ll pick it up later. Before I know it my room is a tornado which stresses me out. I need to learn to just pick up as I go which would save a lot of time/stress. I would also like to run a 5k and possibly a half marathon by the end of the year.

I’m so excited to start fresh with a new year, and everything feels so new right now. Not only is it new that my parents are here, I’ve got a lot of new material items to be excited about and it just feels like a fresh start. I have a new house, heart rate monitor, cross-trainers, camera, clothes/workout clothes, kitchen scale, body scale, purse, etc! I love new things 🙂 Moving into my parents house I need to keep in mind the saying “out with the old, in with the new” because I really want to get rid of sooo much stuff and just have a simplified room that is easy to keep clean and not be so much clutter (which leads to stress)! Well, wish me luck as I will be working on that for the next few weeks! I expect I will be blogging more with my new camera– we’ll see! Happy New Year! 2009 is going to be the best yet!!
